The 91ÖÆƬ³§ Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication – Film Studies Concentration, follows a student-centered, developmentally-oriented learning path as they move from introductory courses in film and digital video production, cinematography and editing, to courses in intermediate and advanced film and digital video production, digital special effects, advanced editing, producing, cinematography for motion picture imaging, advanced audio recording techniques and screenwriting. With the Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication – Film Studies Concentration at 91ÖÆƬ³§, you'll have the opportunity to work with professional equipment to produce films during all four years.
LU's film studies program is the only university-level motion picture program in Southeast Texas that allows you to shoot on motion picture film. You can also produce films for the local Boomtown Film and Music and Lagniappe Film and Music Festivals.
Not only will you learn practical filmmaking skills such as how to operate a camera and edit footage, but you will also graduate with skills that attract employers in a wide variety of fields. These include good research and communication skills, critical thinking, project management and the ability to organize your time effectively and work to deadlines.
