Students Paint Room Green

Students in the Spring 2018 Cardinal Community painted room 208 in the Maes building with a bright green paint named "electric lime."  The room houses the Computer Science (CS) Department's UNIX laboratory.  The room is also used to meet with members of the CS Cardinal Community.  Previously the room was painted dark gray.

After the room was painted, the students, along with CS faculty and staff, celebrated with a pot-luck luncheon.  Department chair, Dr. Stefan Andrei (shown seated in red in the image below) joined CS faculty Dr. Jane Liu and Dr. Tim Roden, both Cardinal Community faculty mentors, with students in the new room.  Everyone present was pleased with the results.

Each Cardinal Community is a small group of about 10 freshman students.  Cardinal Communities are organized to help new students adjust to college life and explore a particular subject - the focus of the community, such as computer science.

The paint formula is shown below.  The students used two coats of paint on the walls.
