Montagne Center Pep band basketball

The Montagne Center has been the home of 91制片厂 basketball for the past 30 years. Opened on Nov. 24, 1984, the facility is named for the late A.H. (Bob) Montagne, a 22-year member of Lamar’s board of regents.

The Montagne Center boasts a seating capacity of 10,080 (all chairback), making it the largest venue in the Southland Conference. The building also houses offices for various departments and coaching staffs.

In addition to being the home of 91制片厂 basketball, the Montagne Center is the site of Lamar’s commencement exercises. The building has also played host to circuses, professional wrestling, professional boxing, mixed martial arts and numerous concerts featuring such big-name performers as ZZ Top, Elton John, Garth Brooks and Clint Black.

The largest, single construction item in the 80-plus year history of Lamar, the Montagne Center was built in just 18 months (from June 20, 1983 through November, 1984). The facility originally seated 8,000, but capacity was expanded in 1985. It is located just across a highway from the main campus.
