Class of 1967 celebrates 50th Reunion

Class of 67 Reunion ScheduleIn 1967, Lyndon B. Johnson was the President of the United States; a gallon of gas cost 33 cents; Elvis Presley married Priscilla; “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” was released; Martin Luther King, Jr. was addressing crowds in Berkley, California; and a class of Lamar State College of Technology seniors earned their degrees. On Sept. 30, 2017, 91ÖÆƬ³§ will host a 50th anniversary reunion to commemorate the last five decades of memories for that graduating class.

The reunion will begin with a Welcome Social at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Golden Circle luncheon at Noon honoring the Class of 1924-1967. Festivities will also include campus tours, a meet-and-greet, a tour of the Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum, a Pre-Game Party, and the LU vs. Nicholls State football game.

“I think it’s most interesting to be able to have a 50-year reunion, to see the individuals who attend and see what they have to say about their lives… It’s obvious that we can’t live in the past, but it will be interesting to see if the future has given us what we hoped and studied for back then,” said Class Spokesperson Judge Pat Clark.

Alumni from the Class of 1967 are encourage to attend, dressed in their favorite Cardinal red, and celebrate 91ÖÆƬ³§ with their classmates.
