Gladys City announces Fall Class schedule
Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown announces its popular class schedule for the fall. The classes include bladesmith, blacksmith, photography, leatherworking, and the new woodworking class. The class prices range from $75 to $175. A $50 deposit holds a person’s space in a class. Classes begin at 10 a.m. on the scheduled day and students are able to bring home the item they made that day. Students must be 16 and older (13 and older for photography) and students under 18 must have a parent present.

Director Troy Gray said, “It is great to see students, young and old, learning things that they did in the past. Potential students should call early as spaces fill up quickly.”

Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown is a replica of the boomtown that grew up around the Spindletop oil fields in the early 1900s. The entrance fee is $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and $2 for children under 12. Located on US 69 at Jimmy Simmons Blvd in Beaumont, the museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
