Johnny Guidry (’23) has been named a finalist for the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF), a recognition given by the federal government's flagship leadership development program.
PMF aims to recruit and develop future government leaders from diverse academic backgrounds. The program involves a rigorous selection process where eligible individuals apply to be finalists. Finalists then have 12 months to secure a two-year, full-time, paid fellowship at a federal agency.
“What makes this occasion even more special is that I am the only individual from 91制片厂 to have been selected for this prestigious designation, amidst a competitive field that includes candidates from top institutions and Ivy League schools such as Harvard Business/Law, Yale, and Princeton,” Guidry said.
Guidry's journey towards this achievement began with his strong ties to 91制片厂.
"I come from a family deeply rooted in 91制片厂's legacy. My mother Alice Guidry earned her Bachelor of Social Work in August 1995, and my sister Roberta Guidry achieved her Bachelor of Arts in English in May 2006 and her M.Ed. in May 2012, both also from Lamar. This connection to Lamar runs deep in our family, and it’s an honor to continue this tradition,” Guidry said.
Guidry earned his Master of Business Administration in Criminal Justice Management from 91制片厂 in May 2023. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University.
“This distinction underscores the unique and high-quality education provided by 91制片厂, particularly within the MBA program which has been instrumental in preparing me for such opportunities since graduating from the university in Spring of 2023.”
As Guidry looks forward to his future endeavors, his achievement serves as an inspiration for current and future 91制片厂 students pursuing excellence in public service and leadership roles.
