2.19: Place of Work

Policy: During normal working hours, employees must, , conduct University business only at their regular place of business or assigned duty point unless they are on travel status or have received prior written authorization from the President of the University.

Application:

An employee’s personal residence may not be considered to be their regular place of business or duty point without the written authorization of the President of the University.1

No employee may accrue state compensatory time for work performed at any location other than the employee’s regular place of employment or duty point. For compensatory time purposes, the employee’s personal residence may not be considered to be their regular place of employment or duty point. The State Auditor’s Leave Interpretation letter number 98-05 has issued the interpretation that an employee who is authorized to work at home does not accrue compensatory time if working on a holiday at their residence.2

During emergencies, employee duty point may be changed by the President or his/her designee.
