Do you enjoy helping others? Do you want to work on campus? Do you like flexible and guaranteed hours? STAR Services is hiring motivated, capable and personable students to be Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders in a variety of subjects. The pay rate for SI Leaders is $12 an hour.

SI Leader Job Description:

• Plan engaging activities and facilitate active, collaborative study sessions
• Provide individual and/or small group assistance in specific subjects, as well as support to enhance students' learning and study skills
• Attend weekly class times and meet regularly with the course professor and SI supervisor
• Maintain accurate records of SI sessions
• Provide consistent performance by following established expectations
• Participate in paid training to continually improve service to students
• Perform office and administrative tasks
• Other duties as assigned

What qualifications must I have to be a SI Leader?

Required:

• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Proficiency in specific subject area (A or B grade in course)
• At least one reference from 91ÖÆƬ³§ faculty 
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong decision-making skills
• Current 91ÖÆƬ³§ Undergraduate or Graduate Student

Preferred:

• Previous tutoring or equivalent experience
• Completed course with A
• Course is required as part of major
• Computer proficiency, including popular software programs
• Excellent leadership skills
• Knowledgeable about Campus Resources
