Hospitality Administration B.S. - Culinary Arts

Do you like the hospitality industry and want to be a Chef? Do you want to own your own bakery, café, or restaurant? Then the BS in Hospitality Administration-Culinary Arts is the degree for you. credit-suisse2.jpg

The BS in Hospitality Administration-Culinary Arts program includes a variety of courses in the hospitality field such quantity and commercial food production, baking, restaurant applications, hospitality law and hospitality management.

Community service and industry exposure will provide you with a working knowledge of contemporary practices and provide the basis for interactive projects. 

The program is for students who are interested in becoming a Certified Culinarian (CC). For students who are not interested in becoming a CC, check out BS in Hospitality Administration.  The BS in Hospitality Administration- Culinary Arts curriculum includes:

  • introduction to the hospitality industry 
  • basic foods 
  • quantity foods
  • baking
  • commercial food production
  • purchasing
  • hospitality management 
  • human resources in hospitality 

 

An 18-hour Hospitality Administration or Culinary Arts minor is also available to students who are pursuing other majors but are interested in the hospitality industry. Minors Available for Current Students

With this degree, you might work as a Certified Culinarian (CC), advance on to a Chef De ’Cuisine and then become an Executive Chef. You may also want to become Food Service Director in a commercial, non-profit, and institutional food service organizations in which you are the primary leader over the food & beverage purchasing, production, distribution. You might also manage a restaurant, hotel, spa, or casino. You may want to go into business for yourself as an event planner or a food & beverage establishment owner.  

Note: The BS in Hospitality Administration-Culinary Arts program accepts up to 36 hours of technical credit for students who have completed an AAS degree in Hospitality & Culinary Arts or a closely related degree.
